My approach to AI

I believe people deserve honest information about the work they support. When AI has played a meaningful role in one of my projects, I will disclose that use as clearly as I reasonably can. I will not describe AI-assisted work as entirely handmade, and I will try to explain which parts were generated, assisted, edited, or created directly by me.

I also respect that some people do not wish to support projects involving generative AI. They are free to make that choice, to disagree with my decisions, and to criticise my work. Transparency does not require agreement; it allows people to make informed decisions according to their own values.

At the same time, I believe these tools can help individuals create work that might otherwise be beyond their available time, resources, or technical capacity. I use them selectively while retaining creative direction, reviewing the results, and taking responsibility for what I release. AI is part of my process, not an excuse to surrender judgement or accountability.

I recognise that generative AI raises serious concerns, including environmental costs, labour displacement, consent, intellectual property, and the protection of artists’ identities and likenesses. I support meaningful efforts to address those harms through better regulation, responsible development, clear disclosure, and stronger protections for creators and workers.

My position is not that AI is harmless, nor that it should be rejected in every circumstance. I am trying to engage with it honestly, thoughtfully, and in a way that helps me find a sustainable creative path in the world.
